Peanut Butter Oat Dog Biscuits

I remembered how much Scruffles liked peanut butter so I settled on peanut butter oat biscuits for Maya, hoping that she'd feel the same.  I switched things up a little bit from the recipe in the book to use only ingredients that I had on hand, replacing the oat bran with rolled oats and simply leaving off the wheat germ.  If I were making these homemade dog biscuits on a more regular basis for my own dog, I would be more concerned with packing my treats full of nutrients; as a gift for my friend's pup, I went with something easy!

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-natural peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a blender, mix milk and peanut butter until you have a smooth liquid.
  3. Blend in egg.
  4. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix flour and oats.
  5. Using a wooden spoon, mix wet ingredients into flour/oats until you have a heavy dough.
  6. Roll out dough about 1/4 " thick on a lightly floured surface.
  7. Cut into dog bone shapes (or any shape you'd like).
  8. Place biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
