  • 1 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 15 oz 1 can tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked salt
  • 1/2 tsp sumac


  • Combine all ingredients in a nonreactive medium saucepan.
  • Heat on medium-high until the mixture comes to a slow boil, stirring regularly.
  • Lower heat and simmer until reduced by half.
  • Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  • Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
