I couldn’t help myself – I had to make sweetie pie for Valentine’s Day.
What’s sweetie pie? Since Google revealed no clear answer, I created my own sweetie pie recipe to share with the sweetie pies in my life.
My sweetie pies are hand pies (you have to be able to hold your sweetie) and they are filled with my favorite edible sweetie (sweet potatoes) and lots of love in the form of chocolate! They are essentially hand held chocolate sweet potato pies.
If you adore pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie and haven’t had any since turkey day, now is your chance to enjoy February’s chocolaty version.
I originally developed this recipe for Mann’s Culinary Cuts. I have a passion for sweet potatoes, so when they asked for a sweet potato recipe for Valentine’s Day, I was all over that job. Mann’s sells sweet potato ribbons that are fantastic for throwing in a dish and using instead of noodles.
Rather than peeling and cutting a sweet potato to food process for my sweetie pies, I food processed the ribbons. By no means do you need to use the sweet potato ribbons to make this recipe, but it sure made things easy.
Although Mann’s sponsored the recipe development, they are not sponsors of this post.
