Egg McCastle

What happens when you take two White Castle sliders with cheese and use them instead of English muffins to make a breakfast sandwich?  My friends Eric and Brian were determined to find out and I was there to document the insanity.  Meet the Egg McCastle:

The Tool

I won this gadget at BlogHer Food.  This one little machine toasts the bread and cooks the egg in one step.  You could make Egg McCastles without it, but why would you?  I’ve also used the Breakfast Sandwich Maker to make more traditional breakfast sandwiches and it does a great job.  It would be the perfect gift for someone going off to college.  Who knows what they could create at 2 AM?

  2. This looks like something a college kid would do. And maybe his mother, too!

  3. Just ordered the sandwich maker via your Amazon link. I didn’t even know they existed. What a fun, clever gadget. It’s so perfect for my son. He’s a HUGE white castle and breakfast sandwich fan. Can’t wait to try this out with him next time he’s home…and he’ll be here soon for the St. Louis Food Media Forum! :-) Fun post, Stef. The video cracked me up.
