Giveaway – Ice Cream Happy Hour Book and Sucre and Spice Ice Cream Spoons | Cupcake Project

Giveaway – Ice Cream Happy Hour Book and Sucre and Spice Ice Cream Spoons

If there were a Greek system for desserts, ice cream and cupcakes would definitely be sorority sisters.  Ice cream made it into my list of top ten frostings, and each May I hold an Ice Cream Cupcake contest on this blog (start thinking about your entry now!).

As you know, I like taking cupcake flavors to unexpected (often alcoholic) places, and the book Ice Cream Happy Hour does the same thing for ice cream.  In fact, many of the boozy cupcakes I have created mirror the ice cream flavors that are found in this book.  Here’s a list of some of my cupcakes that have related ice cream recipes in Ice Cream Happy Hour:

I know how much I loved these flavors as cupcakes and I’m looking forward to trying them all as ice creams! I already tried the butter pecan ice cream with brandy and highly recommend it!

Lucky for you, you’ve got a chance to win Ice Cream Happy Hour and give the recipes a try yourself.  As a bonus (read this in your best infomercial voice), the winner will receive a set of 20 totally adorable ice cream spoons from Sucre and Spice – in any style that you like!

How to Enter
Update:  The winner has been chosen. It is Alanna Dawn.  Congrats!  Thanks to everyone who entered!

Fine Print

  • All comments must be posted by 11:59 PM CST on November 15, 2011.

  • I will randomly draw a winner on November 16.  I will contact the winner and update this post with their name.
  • If I don’t hear from the winner within one week to claim their prize, I reserve the right to choose a new winner.
  • Prizes can only be shipped within the U.S.

Good luck!

(Psst – I’ll be posting soon on Facebook about a second chance to win the book and spoon prize pack.  Make sure that you “like” Cupcake Project on Facebook so that you don’t miss the announcement.)

  12. Monica November 11, 2011 at 10:56 am #

My favorite ice cream to make is Kahlua ice cream, I usually use a vanilla ice cream recipe and replace vanilla with Kahlua. It’s delicious.

  13. Ash November 11, 2011 at 10:58 am #

I’d want to try Pina Colada. I do like vanilla topped with Kahlua it’s yummy.

I would live to eat a mudslide or chocolate ice cream with peppermint mocha kahlua. Or even something with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur:)

  15. Rebecca November 11, 2011 at 11:06 am #

dark chocolate ice cream with peppermint schnapps-my favorite hot chocolate combo made into ice cream! doesn’t get much better!

  16. Michelle November 11, 2011 at 11:10 am #

My husband and I love margaritas! Perhaps this flavor would translate better in a gelato or sorbet.
And for the salt-rimmed glass lovers such as me, a few grains of Kosher salt mixed in? Who knows? 😉

  17. emerzim November 11, 2011 at 11:12 am #

Kahlua ice cream or a mojito ice cream would be awesome.

  18. SF November 11, 2011 at 11:13 am #

  19. Erzsebet November 11, 2011 at 11:20 am #

Hot cocoa made with milk and some ovaltine and a splash of bailey’s irish cream could inspire a delicious cupcake!

  20. Dawn L. November 11, 2011 at 11:23 am #

  21. Erica Miller November 11, 2011 at 11:27 am #

Lemon ice cream or sorbet with raspberry vodka!

  22. afkjl November 11, 2011 at 11:34 am #

White Russian. B&J used to carry the flavor late 80’s early 90’s but eventually dropped it. I’ve been in mourning ever since!!!

I had this awesome drink made with tequila and tamarind (almost like a margarita), that would be awesome as an ice cream flavor.

  24. Anonymous November 11, 2011 at 11:43 am #

Wine drinker here – Edisto Black from Southern Charms winery I would love to have made into an icecream. Maybe with a vanilla base. The wine taste like a day at the beach!!!

  25. Anonymous November 11, 2011 at 11:44 am #

    Vanilla ice cream with baileys…yum!

  26. TheActiveBaker November 11, 2011 at 12:11 pm #

  27. Andrea the Kitchen Witch November 11, 2011 at 12:20 pm #

Kahlua ice cream would be amazing!

  28. Kelli November 11, 2011 at 12:21 pm #

I’m all about pina colada. Mojito sounds good too.

  29. Sarah November 11, 2011 at 12:33 pm #

Khalua, Baileys, apple-tini or even a cosmo would be yummy. Do we have to pick just one? Sex on the Beach might be good too. Our local ice cream shop carries 6 ice cream flavors made with wine but I don’t find the flavor of the wine to be very “present.” And yes, you will be carded before buy the ice cream.

I’m a total Tom Collin’s fan… but am easily swayed by Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini’s and any beverage that includes Bailey’s (hot cocoa, anyone?). Yum! Is it too early to start drinking? :)

  32. chipchiphooray November 11, 2011 at 12:52 pm #

Strawberry daquiri ice cream! Mmm, that sounds like a summer treat to me. :)

  33. gwen November 11, 2011 at 1:19 pm #

I just had a Pear Martini at The Turf Room that was beyond spectacular! Gin, Xante, Grey Goose Pear Vodka, Agave, Fresh Lemon & Lime Juice and bit of Pinot Grigio… not too sweet with layers of flavor. Put that in an icecream and I will be in dessert heaven!

  34. Barb B. November 11, 2011 at 1:52 pm #

Well, if you could invent a good Margarita ice cream, I would be all over it!

  35. Anonymous November 11, 2011 at 2:06 pm #

    I’m thinking bourbon and pecan.

Hi ! I am constantly busy, as life always is with 2 kids/ cupcake hobby-business and wishes alcohol was calorie free, lol…yeah right! But anyways, with the holidays rolling around I wouldn’t mind a tanqueray_gin Ice cream…It’s got this pine tree Christmas smell to it. That would be kinda cool….egg nog on one side of the table and tanqueray gin ice cream on the other…winter wonderland for sure !!! 😉

  58. Jessica November 12, 2011 at 6:45 am #

Out of those listed the hot buttered rum sounds lovely, but what I would really like to try is a “Snuggler.” I had some (too many) years ago and loved it. It’s hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps. Yummy…

Vanilla ice cream covered in rum butterscotch caramel…………ymmmmm

  63. Patti November 12, 2011 at 8:19 am #

Banana shot ice cream would be good. You could top it with strawberries and pineapple with a drizzle of chocolate and have a kicked up banana split. You could even add a little whipped cream and a cherry on top.

  64. Anonymous November 12, 2011 at 8:19 am #

I’m a beer drinker, through and through! But not sure how that would translate into a cupcake?!

  65. parsnipsandsprockets November 12, 2011 at 8:37 am #

I put liquor in my ice cream all the time; I find it helps keep it from turning into a solid frozen mass (it’s vegan ice cream so the freezing properties are a bit different). I’ve made coconut ice cream with rum, maple and molasses rum ice cream, brandy and chai ice cream, white russian ice cream and probably some others that I can’t think of at the moment. I haven’t tried putting beer in it though, maybe there’s some chocolate Guinness ice cream in my future…

  66. Raelyn November 12, 2011 at 8:42 am #

My all time favorite drink is an Amaretto Sour. I bet that would make a delicious ice cream!

  99. Camry November 14, 2011 at 12:31 pm #

I made my own version of a ‘whiskey sour’. It’s basically whiskey, lemon juice and sour cream. I also make a mean mint julep ice cream that is to die for!

My favorite drink is root beer with whipped cream vodka. That would be a definite interesting ice cream.

  101. Anonymous November 14, 2011 at 7:10 pm #
