When I first heard about the cupcake corer
, I thought that it had to be the most gimmicky product imaginable. For years now, I've been happily coring cupcakes without ever using the term or the tool - I just used a small paring knife
. But, as a recent convert to apple corers
, when I was offered a free sample of the cupcake corer, I decided to give it a go. |

| It makes a perfect hole every time, ready for filling. |
After using it, I still think the cupcake corer is hokey. However, it does actually make coring easier; and since the kit comes with two squeeze bottles with tips for filling and frosting (silly me, using that spoon) and an offset spatula, it would make a great gift for someone just getting started with cupcake baking.
The nice folks at Cuisipro have offered me a second cupcake corer to give away. Yay!

Marshmallow Fluff is a great filling in a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting.
Chocolate cupcakes with raspberry jam filling, or white cupcakes with a lemon filling are my favorite.

My favorite filling is a mini Reese's peanut butter cup, it melts slightly and people are in shock when they bite into the cupcake and find a hidden heavenly treat, it's like finding a toy in the cereal box :)

I'd think the cupcake corer would cut the time down that it takes to core cupcakes. That would be worth it to me when I'm doing large batches (got the school bake sale next week).

One of my favorite things to fill a cupcake with is cookie dough! SO delicious. But I am reading from other people about cream cheese! I love cream cheese in pretty much any form so why haven't I ever filled a cupcake with it! I love your blog by the way! It is very inspiring!

I always use a knife to core my cupcakes, but this looks so much easier. I think my favorite fillings that I have done so far are chocolate or coconut.
Favorite is a peanut butter filling. Always unexpected, it's good in chocolate cupcakes or in berry cupcakes (for a PBJ type feel)

I've only done one cupcake with filling and that was watermelon jam!!! Everyone who tried them loved the surprise in the middle :) Totally wish I had this cupcake cored when I made these it would have made things 10 times easier!!!!
I don't think I've ever met a filling I didn't like. I think maybe a gen-u-wine, old fashioned custard would be tops. Although I would be more than willing to try everybody's suggestions. They all sound wonderful.

This corer certainly looks like a Cool Tool. I fill with mini M&Ms that have been mixed with a peanut butter frosting inside of a Deep Chocolate Cake. The M&Ms are tiny enough to fit through the right size tip, this gadget would certainly fit the bill.

I dont usually fill cupcakes, but I have a peanut butter cream cheese frosting that would be yummy.
I would use this device to fill my cupcake with tiny little ninjas-
cupcake warriors passing out cupcakes to the weary and sweet-toothed...because,
