How to Make Ice Cream Cupcakes

There many different ways to make ice cream cupcakes.

Method 1:  Ice cream sandwiched in the middle of cupcake.  (See my maple cinnamon peach ice cream cupcakes.)

Method 2:  Cake on the bottom, ice cream on top, frosting over that.  (See my orange ice cream cupcakes.)

Method 3:  Basic cupcake with a scoop of ice cream on top instead of frosting.  (See my pickle and ice cream cupcakes.)

Method 4:  Put a mini ice cream cone right into the top of the cupcakes. (See my 4th of July cupcakes.)

Methods 5, 6, 7, etc.:  Add your own methods in the comments!

    I can’t wait to try some of these this summer. i love desserts that don’t require a lot of prep to serve, these fit the bill :)
    I am getting ready to try your chocolate cream cheese frosting for a store bought frosting crowd so we will see what they say :)

    Aerie – Sure! That counts!

    Erin – Nope. I’ve done that and it’s a great idea, but for the contest, the ice cream has to be cold.

    Method 5!!
    make cupcakes, bake them, cut off the top, hollow out some of the cake, put a scoop of ice cream in it, put the top back on, put icing on the top!
