Scruffles turned 19 today! In honor of his birthday, my husband and I took him to the Three Dog Bakery for some pupcakes (doggie-safe cupcakes). I figured that since Scruff has been around for many a cupcake baking (all of them) and has never sampled, he might want to enjoy a cupcake all to himself.
As it turns out, Scruff does indeed love cupcakes. However, unlike me, Scruffles is a huge frosting fan. He ate all of the frosting first and searched the ground for any frosting that may have dropped before even considering the rest of the pupcake.
I feel a bit like a bad Mom for not baking the pupcakes myself. To me, home baked goods are always better. Scruff didn’t seem to care.
Truth revealed: It was the first time we’d even celebrated his birthday. He didn’t seem to hold a grudge about that either. Thank goodness. A big party is definitely in order for his 20th next year.

Since it is Scruffles’ birthday and all, he really should be honored with a picture that shows off his cuteness. He didn’t think that the pupcake one was all that flattering. Therefore, I present to you Scruffles looking cute on his birthday:
